Christmas 1183: An aging and conniving King Henry II is celebrating Christmas in Chinon where he hopes to name his successor. He summons the following people for the holiday: his scheming but imprisoned wife, Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine; his mistress, Princess Alais, whom he wishes to marry; his three sons, Richard, Geoffrey, and John, all of whom desire the throne; and the young, but crafty, King Philip of France (who is also Alais' brother). With the fate of Henry's empire at stake, everybody engages in his or her own brand of deception and treachery to stake his or her claim.

No preparation required, audition scenes will be provided.

Henry II - The aging King of England struggles to choose an heir while navigating familial betrayals and political machinations.
Eleanor of Aquitaine - The imprisoned Queen of England, released for Christmas, fiercely schemes to influence the succession and undermine her husband.
Richard - The eldest son and skilled warrior, known as The Lionheart, vies for the throne with his mother’s support, despite a hidden vulnerability.
John - The youngest son and Henry’s choice for heir, is spoiled and perceived as unfit to rule by many.
Geoffry - The overlooked middle son, cunningly plots to manipulate his family in his quest for power.
Philip II - The young and ambitious King of France, seeks to exploit the Plantagenet family’s infighting in his quest for power and recognition.
Alais - The King’s mistress and sister to King Philip, becomes a pawn in the complex game of succession and alliances.
